Our office is responsible for:
- Administering Election Day and Absentee Voting in all county elections.
- Administering financial payment of all county transactions including payroll for county employees.
- Issuing license for liquor sales and auctioneers in Laclede County.
- Keeper of the public record of the County Commission actions.
- Issuing Notary Commissions

Auctioneer Licenses and County Liquor Licenses are available at the County Clerk’s office*.

Monday through Friday.
*Prices vary. A State Liquor License should be applied for and received first. County Liquor Licenses must be renewed by June 30th (or the Friday prior to June 30th) every year.

Notary Public handbooks and applications are available at the County Clerk’s Office.
Steps to becoming a Missouri Notary Public:
Step 1: Read booklet provided by State
Step 2: Complete mandatory training required by Secretary of State’s Office
(each person completing training will be certified and receive a certification number)
Click the link above to be taken to the Missouri Secretary of State’s website, where you can take the required training.
Step 3: Send completed application to the State.
(application is in the booklet – $25.00 fee to State should be included) (certification number should be on application)
Step 4: Obtain an insurance bond.
(this should be done after a letter is received notifying you of your commission dates)
Step 5: Sign the Notary ledger in the Clerk’s office, then pick up your certificate
(the fee is $3.00)
Step 6: Obtain your notary stamp and supplies.
(The County Clerk’s Office does not sell embossers or notary stamps)
